Mmmm. I'll be interested to see if the twin front beams can also rock about the fore-aft axis somehow or other. Otherwise, it's not properly compensated.

The answer to your question is es the front and rear bears can both rock.

It isn't true 3 point compensation but I think it will work well. If you look at Mike Sharman's book on compensation he has a pretty complicated solution for a 2-10-0.
The rocking part for the beams is the same as that used on the tender and that does work well enough

I have a question to people who has built this kit, it is to with the hornguides on the instruction sheet page 2. On part No 150A it shows you to "Discard above dotted line" cut the part off. But looking at the etched parts I have 8 of part No150 I am driving from the rear Axle so do I need to use part 150A?

Hello Len,

looking at the instructions again I would say that yes you do need to remove the "bit" from part 150A. As the instructions say that it was for a drive system not developed.

I’ve not built one of these, but as I understand it, the “fat” square bit goes inside the frames and slides snugly between the cheeks of the inverted ”U” that is soldered inside the frames and this stops the blocks rotating. The slot in the blocks aligns with the frames, and the thin square bit and the round part are outside the frames. That way the only movement is vertical, they can‘t rotate, nor can they move in- or out-wards.
