Wencombe /Kingsbridge Regis/Louville Lane

I don't know what's going on with my viewing this thread, if I click on My Favourites link, I get to view my post with my Photoshopped image but no posts after it, if I click on an email New Post notification link to this thread, I see all the posts, sometimes I post and see it actually posted, if I click My Favourites link my post is not there

Some thoughts on the present state of play with Kingsbridge.
The joy of Wencombe was that all the buildings were full relief and not many of them and none near the baseboard edge, whereas with Kingsbridge the bulk of the buildings are at the far edge of the baseboard and are nearly all half relief. The "gap" by the way is only 28mm wide and could be made narrower or wider if I wished. In fact the placing of the whole building backscene from the bottom of the "Steps" (behind the station) to the end of the marine engineers has yet to be finalised. I have several very low relief or Fronts to make yet. When they are done I will play around with positioning them and add the pavements etc. I suppose one reason I started Kingsbridge had the new challenge of buildings, If you've looked at the Wencombe end of the thread you will see the background (ie scenery at the back of the layout and the backscene) is entirely rural, something I think I'm reasonably good at, as you have noticed I've found dealing with and placing buildings a much harder challenge.

I've found this as well, placing buildings without it looking too contrived is challenging. To me half the battle is finding the right buildings (without resorting to scratchbuilding) for the location you're portraying.

I like the lighting effect in the first picture - early evening.
Nice touch with the lobster pot marker buoys. I'd wish they'd put flags on them today to make them easier to locate when sailing

Funny you say that, David. Even the skippers on the fishing boats when I go out sea fishing run in to them......
