I was still considering a live, and dead, meat wagon in such close proximity.
I hadn't even realised this when I was putting the wagons on!

Congratulations - that's a really good restoration job given the age of the loco.
I'm sure one of my Dad's locos is in the National Railway museum stock, I thought it was a V2 but I'm fairly positive I can say that isn't that one!

Looking at this trail of damage, the Museum drivers must be a pretty rough bunch!![]()
It would be interesting to learn how the layout is run - some automation and some by a roster of operators?
Top job, James.
May I ask what is your recipe for weathered black, please?
Jon

Basic mix -
Humbrol -
27004 Metalcote Gunmetal
33 Matt Black
62 Matt Leather
Revell -
69 Matt Granite Grey
The latter replaced Humbrol Matt Tarmac.
Mix to taste![]()

Hi James , how did using the genuine turps go ? I assume good but we all know where making assumptions can end up .View attachment 242925
A nice and straightforward renumbering and weathering for this Dapol Jinty. I also removed the vacuum brake equipment for a bit of variation
For this one I decided to try genuine turpentine rather than white spirit for thinning. The smell alone makes it a much better experience!
Usual precautions for spraying! Not knowing much about it, I googled “Turpentine”

surprisingly toxic. Perhaps avoid enclosed spaces.
