Looks great!

Do the windows work?
Thank you!

Everything works :) though the air conditioning needs regassing - it's done 233,000 miles and still drives beautifully.

Since needing an auto for day-to-day it's enjoying a steady retirement - I've got four cars (one's SORN and a long term project) and can never justify keeping it but I really don't care!

I’m very pleased to hear that, as I designed the window system for the 75 and its derivatives (and quite a number of other cars of that era)

:)

My dad's had this 2.5 V6 Connoisseur SE twenty years :) it's a lovely car!

All the windows work perfectly too!

Next up for the Museum another ex PO wagon.

This is one of Dapol's earlier 7mm releases, not as refined as later models, as working, 'layout wagons' they work brilliantly. Just replace those hideous chrome couplings! It'll need strapping adding before weathering.

The scrub up very well.

James how do you achieve the faded Ocean lettering?

James, 46226 was built originally streamlined. When in the BR Blue livery, shouldn't she still have a slope-topped smokebox?
I‘m not an expert on these things but Wikipedia says 46226 was the first de-streamlined loco to receive a cylindrical smoke box, in October 1952. I don’t know what colour she would have been when so rebuilt.

The nature of the bequest means I can't hack chunks out of it but...

I'll check but I suspect it will coincide with receiving BR green.

I'm sure it's a museum "object", which to a museum professional means the modellers have to "stand away from the model with your hands up and put the tools on the floor where we can see them".

According to the Wild Swan profile book, 46226 received its cylindrical smokebox on 8/10/1952, was painted standard blue 1/6/51 and standard green14/5/54. So, it definitely carried blue livery with a cylindrical smokebox for a year and a half, as portrayed in the model.
