Having said that, I do have some bits left over........... never a good sign and I haven't a clue what they might be. Still some work required on teh rear right hand tender side/back join.

It’s common to have bits left over, they’ll probably be on a common sheet for several tender types and not required for yours

Work has commenced on the main frames. It took ages to drill and tap the brass castings.

I haven't been able to locate any information about where the pipes from the grease pipes finish. If anyone knows, please let me know (unless the answer is in locations longer than the pipes, in which case I'll terminate them above the hornguides.......)

You don't feel it softens edges? I prefer to use brass scrapers, but many here seem to use rotary tools.

Dave Sharp came up with the answers. For those who will be building a BR1B/C tender, the following aren't identified in the instructions:

034 either side of ladder at bottom platform
048 either side of ladder at top platform
054 engine lubricator handles
060 unknown
103B under 103 if required
111 unknown

I will see if it is worth trying to fit 34 and 48.

Progress continues, mostly for the assembly at the rear of the frames and some details in and under the cab.









Tomorrow's job will be cleaning up and then will be set aside for a week whilst I travel.

Never too late before painting............
One issue is that the nipple blocks are very close to the brake hangars. Getting the tight bends in the wires to clear the hangars was difficult. I used .45mm copper but may see if I can get some thinner.

The grease pipes are probably 3/8" o/d (possibly only 1/4" o/d), whatever that is in 7 mm scale.
