Slightly more difficult when you are stupid enough to radial axle boxes as I did.
Really nice model.
Thank you. Mine is an 0-8-0 with the coupling rods missing to the outer axles. The kit is designed with pony trucks and driven on the leading axle. Fitting valve gear meant the drive had to be on the rear axle with no space for the pony pivots or radial gear.

Update on the Caprotti.

It was possible to build a nice model from the parts that John had designed, as evidenced by Mark Earnshaw's build:

Mark had identified some issues and I am grateful to @mickoo for agreeing to modify the etches and produce the missing castings (dome, single chimney and two types of steam pipes). Mick made the identified changes to the etches but when doing the test build from the revised prints I found a couple of dozen issues, mostly minor, that really needed to be addressed. Mick also spotted things that I missed. These have been done and the artwork is now with the etching company to produce another set of etches for me to do another build. If OK I will press 'Go' for a production run.

Slaters delivered the crossheads and slidebars today. I already have sets of the resin castings for the cylinders, saddle and firebox. Floyd Kramer is producing the sets of 3D prints that are required and the final lost wax castings are with the casting companies. With a following typhoon the kits may be ready for Kettering but late March is more likely.

Progress continues. Thanks to @mickoo for pointing out that there would likely be a ring in the boiler above the internal shaping ring. There was: probably would not have been noticed until painting unless you were looking for it. So out came my new number 4 cut Vallorbe file followed by emery and it has disappeared. I am still working on the smokebox so the smokebox/boiler/firebox unit has yet to be assembled as a whole. Still impressed with the kit.

It catches many out ;)

You can only see it in the brass if you highly polish it and it catches the light, but gloss green shows it instantly....too late then.

Looks to be about back to where you were before.
Pretty much. The differences this time include:
Thicker springs with extra lamination.
Motion plate moved forward allowing leading brakes to be fitted.
Revised buffer beam gussets
Revised front platform location slots (to hide them behind the steam chest cover)
Revised rear splasher arrangement.
Amended size of fixings (6BA to 8BA).

There are a couple of potential changes to the nickel silver etch. I'll have a ponder about these. I will get one with the bodywork today. I already know that the major revision (the boiler etch) has worked, so fingers crossed.

I received a bag of 3D printed castings this week so am just awaiting the chimney, dome and steam pipes to arrive from the casters.
