In my opinion the best is the sound provided by Dapol on theirs. It’s a zimo decoder which can easily have a stay alive fitted.

Nice to have a structure in place, also today I finished laying the individual bricks and have now blended in the area with DAS clay. Once dry I’ll add some fine sand before paint.

My little 2251 has had an identity change to 2243 a Newport Ebbw junction loco. It needs more weathering added and DCC fitted

That would be very nice if that could happen.
But definitely a good cross section of the loco types to be found on shed during the time period whether they are locally based or visiting engines.

Gave the clay a light sanding down today,
Plus caught something that will have the spotters chatting for a while. A Scot on shed. This became fairly common in 61/62 but only for a very short time.

A little sand laid to blend in the hard standing
The Minerva 56 now has an identity, Pontypool Roads 6677

The supplied detail bits fitted along with some replacement steam, Vac pipes and cast lamp bracket.
and finally Mark Seward transfers.
It needs a heavy weathering like the prototype was circa 61/62

2243 now has her taper buffers fitted.
I didn’t have the correct size drill bit so popped into see the fitters at Pontypool Road!

Lovely little locos, only thing missing from mine is a fall plate.
Just noticed ours are consecutively numbered !
