Thanks Jon and Tim, and Tim's comment about the Goods shed made me realise that it has hardly if ever featured in my photos . So here it is. I can't really remember whose it is, The same firm did the cottages and the pub, I thing it was something like D&S Mouldings, They did the buildings on the late Andy Calvert's N gauge Nether Stowey, I think he/they started out doing N gauge models. I've not seen an advert for several years so he may have retired.

I can't take any credit for the paint job, Tim, they could be bought unpainted or painted. All my stone cast buildings were bought painted.

Haven't posted for ages, As some of you may know who browse RMWeb that I am thinking of a radical change for Wencombe.

However whilst cogitating on that I remembered the thread on Shelf Queens, and after a visit to Tony Wright's Little Bytham a couple of weeks ago and his mantra about having ago, I plucked it from the shelf and decided after several years it aught to be finished. I'd got stuck because the windows didn't fit properly and to be honest they don't now but what hey. The bulkheads and seats have been fitted certainly not upto the normal standards on here in the buffet a very rough representation of the bar has been added, so for your delectation a couple of pics of Alan's not so brilliant handiwork on the Buffetbuffet f2.jpgbuffet f1.jpg .

You have been missed!! Especially as I don't follow much outside of the USA & Canadian Section on RMweb, I've missed your updates over there, too. Do enlighten us on the Radical Change  ... I guess the chances are it's not going forward a decade or so in Era so everything can be Blue ( shame!! :( ) & I'm positive it can't be a 'Changing Scale & Crossing the Pond' exercise so you could run EMD Geeps, boxcars & suchlike...... so please do tell all here... :)

As for the DMU pics above; it's a funny thing that back in my spotting days I wouldn't give 'Bugs' a second glance. Now they're in Preservation I find them quite interesting..... I have no idea why!! But your pic reminds me that there's usually a set or two stabled at Bewdley much of the time...

Seems sometime since I've posted any modelling on here as apart from some snaps.

Lost my mojo for a bit pondering about the above changes in post 474, which would involve buildings, not my forte.
However if I am going to change the layout into a terminus I will need a turntable, and one that looks more GWR-ish than the Peco one. Luckily I found in the back of my modelling cupboard a Dapol turntable kit which has at least an above girder bridge. the more I looked at and at photos of the turntable at Kingswear I began to think I might be able to at least make a representative ex-GWR turntable. On measuring the kit I found that without altering the rail I could just cut the deck and girder to make a 65ft table. I also realised I would have to half the height of the girder. I thought for a week over this and the yesterday grabbed the bull by the horns. Out with the Stanley knife, razor saw, straight edge and clamps. The resulting photos are the outcome of the initial surgery.

Things need to be tidied up etc but I think it does look, from a distance and if you squint whilst looking through rose coloured glasses, a bit like a GWR turntable

Some more progress on the turntable last night. Posed the longest tender engine and the shortest.

Still work to do guard rails etc and then how to set in the baseboard. That will be the time Wencombe will start morphing into Kingsbridge Regis.
