Western Thunderer
ScaleSeven Group’s National Show, at Mark Village Hall, Mark, Somerset, TA9 4NY. Will be held on the 11th October 2025.
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Please note that the S7 Stores will be at the show.
As usual, the Somerset S7 Group will be hosting the National Open Day at Mark Village Hall, on Saturday 11th October between 10.00 and 16.00.
Entry is £8 (cash only and no concessions!) Hot food, with a vegetarian option, will be available at £5 per head courtesy of the Gardiner family, as well as the usual refreshments (tea, coffee, cake and biscuits) on a donations-basis, with ample seating to eat at while you chinwag.
All modellers are welcome to attend irrespective of their chosen scale or gauge!
The show will feature:
S&D Models (Phoenix 1:43 figures) make a welcome return alongside regular traders Masterpiece Models and Dapol/Lionheart.
A selection of S7 Stores items will be available too.
The venue is of course Mark Village Hall, Vole Rd, Mark, Highbridge TA9 4NY (exit M5 J22), and there is plenty of parking plus ramp access for wheelchairs. We are exploring having a card reader available to charge for entry, but please plan to bring your £8 fee in cash just in case we don’t manage.
Mike Baker is bringing his excellent 0FS layout ‘Bradstock’, and Robin Edwards his equally wonderful O14/NG7 ‘Tony’s Forest’. Though not S7, these are finescale and carefully built layouts well worth a close look. Both operators will welcome the chance to chat about their methods.
Dave Nicholson and Dave Easto are demonstrating track-building and styrene modelling respectively. Strategically placed chairs will be available for you to pick their brains.
Finally, the ‘roundy-roundy’ welcomes all 33mm gauge stock: last year we had DC, DCC and RC locomotives over the day.
