Playing around with AI

Having been playing around with the possibilities of generating 4mm scale AI generated Edwardian images for 3D printing my focus turned to what AI could do with regards to buildings. There are already people out there producing 3D printed buildings for sale but what I have seen lately doesn't match up to what can be scratch built. Having said that what I have discovered is AI can be used for producing schematic drawings in what ever scale you want, in my case 4mm. My long term project is to build an EM gauge layout of Millers Dale station but only with the one viaduct, I won't live long enough to build it with the two. How can AI facilitate me in this and here are the results as can be seen in this post. The tea room at Millers Dale station was moved along to accommodate the widening of the station and it is still there to this day but is now a private dwelling. I was able to obtain a photograph of the tea room being moved and from that photo I was able to take it a bit further. I opened up a program called Google Gemini and used the create image tool option. I loaded the photo into the program and asked it to produce four images of the building taken from the front, back and sides. I did not know what the back of the building looked like so I asked it to place two bay windows at the back like the ones in the front of the building. From what evidence I could deduce the build had a stone chimney at the ends of the building as well which I asked it to produce. AI is still in its infancy and doesn't always produce what you ask it to as can be seen in my attached drawings. When this happens you just have to give it a new prompt with the corrections and eventually it will usually get there. But in my case this did not happen when it came to the side views. I could work from these drawings so I was not too bothered by this. I played around for a bit to try and get it to do it but to no avail. I could have tried doing it in other models but for now I was using Nano Banana. There are quite a few packages out there that will do the same thing it's just a question of finding one that best suites your requirements. As I delved more into this I realised that there are other ways of creating 3D images using ChatGPD which will write a script for you that you copy and paste into a free program called Blender to generate the 3D image as a stl file for printing but to do that I would have to correct the discrepancies in the drawing. That's another talk that I will do here depending on how much interest I get in this subject. I could also do a Zoom chat in the near future if that is of interest to anyone.

As can be seen from the schematic views they are not perfect but good enough to work from.

And for some fun I brought the workers to life who were moving the building. Click on link.

Had a very successful weekend exhibiting Three Cocks Junction at the Southampton show last weekend and thought I would have some fun on my phone with AI when I wasn't operating the layout. This is what I came up with. One onlooker accused me of witchcraft when he saw my results. With a bit more tweaking I could have sorted out the mistakes but that would have meant using up more tokens which I didn't want to do for this exercise but it shows what potential it has.
