It is 4 ft by 18 ins and 16 ins tall all cut from one 8 x 4 sheet of ply I hope with just enough left for a fiddle yard. I've not been a very fast builder in the past and I do get side tracked sometimes so it may be a while before it is running.

I collected the perspex on Friday and I fitted it this morning. I also roughed out the hole for the tug to sit in.

And the tug plonked on top.

Finally, have a few minutes to do a bit of an update. The hole was cut for the tug and painted the underside of the perspex.

I will use some Mod Podge to add a ripple effect, very rarely is the river flat calm.

The perspex has now been Mod Podged. The first picture is immediately after the application.

The clear area is where the water is unaffected by the wind. The next picture is around after the application.

I wish I had attacked the popped air bubbles, whilst it was still tacky. The next one is when it has dried.

I'm quite pleased with the result, but those popped air bubbles are P'ing me off and I'm slowly attacking the worst ones with a small brush in the hopes that I can cover them up.

Thanks for the tips Phil it probably needs to get a bit warmer in my modelling shed before I can start on the water.

At last I have managed to be able to get out to my shed/workshop and do a little more on the layout. I have now finalised the track layout after buying another point at Ally Pally. After looking for over a year and settling for the Hornby coke wagons to modify I found three 3H kits on a stall at Ally Pally I just had to buy them. I also was tempted by a brand new Hornby J15 for £85 even though it won't fit on this layout.
