Either that's a fairly small van, or fully-scaled O Scale buildings are much bigger than I'd realised..!! :scratch:

All the best for the weekend! If you ever get invited to Warley, add a few "spare" Operators to your list... ;D   walking straight past the scrum outside as a guest of Makhis was quite a thrill last year  ....

It's a Luton van body. Some of the boards on the frame need 15+ inches clearance.

For me Dewsbury was top layout followed by Heyside and Leeton.

Hi Guys

Well, we're back. That was an adventure! No great alarms though. The layout worked very well. Not perfectly, but we managed to hold our heads high. Lots of lessons to be learned. We were never going to be mentioned in despatches as the layout was not finished enough to be considered - though even then, I was told it did garner some votes. We did get 4 enquiries for exhibition attendances and a request for magazine publication, so we must be doing something right. I guess I'm too close and see where it's going wrong, not going right!

We were on the van and ready to go 2 hours after the show ended which I was very pleased with, and it was unpacked here by 1.00am. Up by 6.00am to take the van back, so I'm knackered at the moment.

Anyway, 4 shots of the layout, the sort of which I can't get when it's in its normal location.

I love the overhead views - puts it all into context in a way that (obviously) none of us have been able to see before. It's HUGE isn't it?!?!

No letter sent to The Times -or anywhere else.... I did note the mention on RMweb, but was talking more about the "Official" votes.. ;D
No doubt it's time will come 8)

As Jordan says, the overhead views put the whole thing into context and will be helpful to you for planning any further tweeks.

Just noticed that in the overhead views the 105 DMU has escaped onto the main line. I shall have to have a stern chat to it. Seriously, it was a great addition for the layout and really looked the part, as well as making life easier for the branch operators (when they got to play with it).

You can also see Allan's chimney behind the factory on the right. He want's to build a proper one now. I think he means a full scale 200 ft one as opposed to the tichy 130 ft one we have now. (visions of a whole mass of chimneys belching smoke.....)

As long as most of it worked, most of the time, thats all you can ask for a first outing, you only really learn how to run it at exhibitions by doing exhibitions....

Been following the thread with increasing wonder, the nearly finished result is brilliant  . Couldn't get to Manchester, where is the next live showing, hope its near Lincoln.
