Hello, everyone. My account has just been approved. I began railway modelling in the late 1950s with HD 3- and 2-rail layouts, eventually selling it to fund photography and home film processing, but retaining a life-long interest in railway history. I resumed railway modelling much later in life in 2003 with a 4mm/00 representation of part of RE Long Marston, work which was featured in Railway Modeller. A garden railway ('G' scale/45mm gauge) then gave great pleasure in construction and operation, followed by a move of house that saw the line reconstructed in a garage for all-year operation. The line has been closed and lifted and my modelling is strictly of the armchair variety now. For the last sixteen years, I've been writing papers on the untold story of the GWR's operation and development of railways and resources in SE Cornwall.

I hope to contribute from time to time here, and to continue the learning experience.
