Full of inspiration. While I could never go back as far as pre-grouping, all it needs is the intro of a r-t-r 'Cauliflower' or something big from the Precursor family, and Llanfair would see more LMS engines from Shrewsbury! Funnily enough, I built a pile of LNWR locos in the 1960's when doing models for George Mellor and mocked up a Belpaire 4-6-0 from one of his kits. He didn't think there was a market ...

I have Three of Malcolms LNWR cove roof carriages that he made and painted for me some time ago. That I will probably never use.

Hi John,
My requirements have migrated into the less common. I'm in discussions for a diner but I also have plans for a sleeper train (Crook Street portion!) and a mail train. I'm assuming I'll have to scratchbuild, so components will be needed. I can see an investigation into 3d CAD and printing in my future...

Ideas ticking away in the back of what passes for my brain…
Jenkinson method, probably achieved by means of a Silhouette drag knife, combined with resin 3DP for ends, bulkheads, seating, tables, etc.
Possible application of FDM 3DP for underframe and bogies. Dynamo, brake cylinders etc, and battery boxes in resin.

I look forward for every missive that you publish and find the sheer size of Crook Street in such a small space just amazing and can only dream of producing something in such detail. That having been said it still gives me inspiration to at least try . Thankyou for sharing your wonderful layout

That opening picture of a Caulifower reminded me very much of W.S.Norris's layout. He also had a Cauliflower (I think he may have had two) which had been built by Bernard Miller and it had the same clean but not too shiny finish. Being B&W helps give the impression. Very nice.

Watched your latest video last night . Totally fascinated by how much work those locos had to do to sort the wagons . I must admit that I had never given any thought as to the order that wagons needed to be so that dropping them off was easy so thank you Allan for opening my eyes to that detail .
Thanks Paul. There'd probably be slightly less work at a more prototypically large yard but there'd still be a lot. Bob Essery's "Operation for Modellers" books are really informative on shunting. Often goods trains would be held on the main running lines while shunting the smaller wayside yards, so having the wagons marshalled in station order was crucial to avoid delays (not to mention a lot of cursing from the crews). This was usually done at the despatching yard.
