Clatterinbrig - BR Blue on Speyside

Clatterinbrig - One Foot in the Skip

This layout was originally built to serve as a test best for a future layout plan. As it turned out, events went in a very unexpected direction but it definitely served its purpose. It has though been redundant for many years and was one step removed from the skip. Also sitting redundant is all the stock I had for Balbeggie Sidings. BR blue era diesels and all - with a couple of exceptions - suitable for use in the north east of the country.

In the short term the layout will serve as a scenic backdrop for that stock. The layout runs and being only about 5' long, can be shifted about to suit. The theory is based around the Speyside lines not being closed and so a simple sequence allows a bit of operation. There is a theoretical exchange siding just off scene which gives me an excuse to use the little yard at the station for holding the train engine, whilst other traffic passes.

26028 having dropped its wagons at the exchange siding return to the station to lock the frame and return the Annett's Key back into the station, releasing the "main" line.

The layout, still with unrefurbished scenery, temporarily hosted outside in the shed. There a little work to do to freshen up the scene and a couple of tall trees to go back on but with a little work it might be presentable again.

At one point I was contemplating if I would use this and add to it. There are still some locos in boxes that have never been renumbered or weathered but as fun as this has been for a distraction I do think working in 7mm makes it hard to go back. We'll see. Maybe a bit of presentational magic and it will get out and about.

Further updates if there is interest.
