No actual modelling, but my new eyes allow use of the computer in short stints, so I've done the CAD for the fourth and final Scotstown cottage, much the same as the other three, only different.

Following my post the blocks arrived over the weekend. Now I’ll have to start some building work!But it's a very useful drift. Things like this are what makes WT such a wonderful resource.

Cottage #3 was put on hold because my bionic eyes weren't up to it. In the meanwhilst, I've made a (slow) start on cottage #4.
My new eyes have a focal distance of about 40-50cm, which is a bit long for fine modelling. However, what I imagine others achieve with opti-visors I can achieve with a pair of my wife's pharmacy-grade readers and a desk lamp, so I think I'm set, i.e. a focal distance of ~20cm.
But it is weird putting glasses on for close-up work: I used to have to take them off.
Having gotten to this point with cottage #4, I might as well continue, then return to #3.

Looking good! It is strange how eyesight changes, even naturally. I was always short sighted, wearing glasses for driving etc, but a few years ago found reading books a bit more challenging so went back to the optician. She told me my eyes had changed their focal length and I no longer need glasses to drive, but I do now wear reading glasses and sometimes an opti for modelling.

I already needed reading glasses and still do, with different focal lengths for modelling, and using the computer, but that’s no hardship, as I don’t need glasses to ride my motorbikes, drive the car, or pilot the boat.

Cottage #4 is done, excepting the usual detailing such as chimney pots, guttering and downpipes. A couple of months, which isn't too bad for me, all things considered.
Apologies for the poor photos. We're having another rain event, so the natural lighting is not at it's best.
Next is to return to and finish cottage #3.

In an uncharacteristic burst of productivity and enthusiasm, I've finished cottage #3, which gained skylights, a backyard and a lean-to in the last few days.
As with the other cottages and other buildings, there's still chimney pots, guttering and downpipes to add, and, in the case of the cottages, some fences and general domestic backyard clutter.
Completion of cottage #3 also means that the completion of the Scotstown cottages that I intend to model.
The cottages sit on the right-most baseboard (viewed from the front). I have envisioned further baseboard(s) for a fiddle-yard, but have yet to get beyond the "envisioning", which is why the track ends prematurely. In front of the cottages will also be a road, which is also being envisioned.
That nearly brings to an end building construction, with only a watertower to go.
As you see, the actual tank has rounded edges, which my favoured cardboard will struggle to reproduce. I had thoughts to buy some quarter-round styrene, but what I can find all seems too small at 3mm. On the other hand is quarter-round timber molding from the hardware store, but it's too big. A modern alternative is to get some quarter-round 3D printed, perhaps even to print the whole tank. This has led me to thoughts of buying a printer of my own, but being the experienced procrastinator cautious thinker that I am, further consideration is required before I disappear down that particular rabbit hole.

Is the Dapol (nee Airfix) water tank moulding anywhere near the size you need?
It would certainly be easy to modify.
