Well, all the Bachmann Panniers are renumbered. I have made a start on the Accuscale one.
Very much a work in progress thing at the mo as much cleaning up still to do.

This is the prep work

The original decals removed by Sharpie pen and Microset (don't use Microset on Railmatch transfers!!!)
Just the bottom of the cabside decal removed as its a guide for the new number but new number is slightly higher as discussed above.1770733712176.jpeg
New transfers added but still drying out and awaiting clean up and satin varnish stage.

And the inspiration.

Is it a gaggle of panniers, or a herd or a colony? Maybe its a mass of matchboxes!
Anyway all now done but awaiting dry weather before spraying with a weathering mix.1771431995182.jpeg

Careful using those number plates, 8790 and 4655 were cast iron plates - according to a list I have.
I had to be careful with the front number plate on the Accuscale PT (unlike the Bachmann version where all you have to do is file the rivets off and varnish in preparation for the new front plate) 7723 was a pig! Accuscale front plates are brass and a bit too wide. Much careful and time consuming filing! However after 2 coats of Micro gloss and an overnight dry out the new plate went on a treat. 7723 requires weathering, a crew, a decent scale front coupling and a bit more work but I am pleased so far.1771433099644.jpeg

I want to weather one of my panniers to represent the BR paint wearing off and the earlier GWR lettering is visible on the tanksides.

I found an image on the web a few months ago but didn't bookmark it and....

Can anyone help or point me in the right direction please?
