INSPIRATION:
I was initially influenced by the Llanfyllin branch terminus in Shropshire, but decided from the outset it would be called Llanfair. Then it became a standard gauge version of the Welshpool & Llanfair Railway un-influenced by the Light Railway Act. The real Shrewsbury-Welshpool line was built jointly by the Cambrian and LNWR, but my history says the LNWR influence led to a more heavily built line. Therefore the W&L followed suit.
Traffic:
Passenger trains were three coaches at the most with corridor coaches on through services to Shrewsbury and non-corridor on purely local trains.
A manufacturer of waterproof clothing called 'Waramac' moved its operations to Llanfair in the mid 1930s to provide much needed employment for the younger generation.
POST-NATIONALIZATION:
The period of the layout is early 1950's.
MOTIVE POWER:
A GWR blue route. GWR and LMS motive power.
OBJECTIVES:
DCC control for smooth operation of mechanisms.

Not a blow-by-blow construction, but just to say I am using the base of the building to position walls until the UHU Wood glue is set. It has to be removable so glazing can be fitted after spraying...

Holding the roof down while it sets. It will only glued to the walls after painting and glazing...
