Just in case the photographs don't make sense. This is the scenic section of the layout in plan form. Yes it has taken until now for me to draw it up in a neater version for sharing.
As a track plan it isnt anything out of the ordinary. It's more or less a BLT but in a completely different scenic setting. It was the presentation as a model of an area of the city with a railway in it that makes it different visually.

Another question ...... is Millicent Street an actual street in Hull or is the layout a representation of the back streets of Hull in the 1960s and 70s ?

The street at the left hand end with the disused level crossing is 'Vermont Street' which does exist in the HU5 area. Albeit we extended it in our scenario. Millicent Street is a street we invented which would have run parallel to Worthing Street and Ryde Avenue had it existed. Though takes inspiration from all streets in the area with all buildings based on prototypes within a few miles too. The layout is set 1967/68 with all small details such as posters etc from those years.

As this weekends show afforded us a lot more room around the layout than in the workshop it gave us the oppotunity of taking some overall shots of model in action.



These should give you a flavour of what it looks like when set up at shows.

As someone born and raised in HU5, I'd have been 5 or 6 in the years of depiction, I'd love to see Millicent Street at an exhibition. It triggers all sorts of memories of my early years in Hull.
