Hi Martin
The intentio coalstage is based on Slough and photos of Slough shows that these were fitted. A bit of a fiddle to make the corrugated one but I think worth the effort. I will be taking it to scaleforum this year on a small diorama it will most probably not be finished but you will get the general idea what it will look like.

All looking good, but I’m intrigued by your smokestacks on the external canopy. Is this based on a prototype stage? On an enclosed track stage, locos were not allowed to enter past the stage entrance - so were they allowed to on external track stages?

Hi Dai
I do agree that there was a sign stating that engines must not pass this point but I would think that there were occasions when an engine would pass this point. As for the smokestacks if you have a copy of “Great Western engine sheds London division” there are drawings of Slough (that this coalstage is based on) showing the smokestacks. Hope this clear things up.

Corrugation water tank cover now fitted. Needs paint touching up in places and water gauge pulley needs gluing in place.

Tank toned down and water gauge fitted. Now only got to make tank platform and ladder and fit the staircase.

Hi Paul
There are 3D print parts that have been used on this coalstage but I think 3D print would be too over scale and too fragile to use. I must thank my friend (you know who you are) for supplying the 3D prints and the Colin Waite etches for the ladder.
