Well do please thank him from me - he's made some wonderful industrial and other railway scenes available to us (e.g the John Wiltshire collection), I like the way he is able to edit what can sometimes be very average quality (e.g. grainy) photos and turn them into quite stunning, stylish images.

Will do. John's images are particular favourites of mine. He took some great photos. His son, Andrew, was another of our regulars but he sadly passed away last year.

Well, I had hoped to be getting on with things on the Peco board but I've acquired a dose of the dreaded lurghi overnight so snot and lethargy are the order of the day.

I did however glue the board together yesterday evening and that seems to have gone well. Next step will be to apply some filler then add the MDF top board before laying the track.

The MDF will raise the trackbed and provide a drop to the front which will form a small water feature.

I also need to give some thought to adding a short fiddle stick but that can wait thoughI do have a plan.

Sympathy, I had something similar last week, and as I got over it, MrsD got it. The good news is that it doesn’t seem to hang around.

Morning Simon,

Well, you were right, it doesn't seem to hang around. In contrast to this time yesterday, no snot, no malaise. Not quite 100% but considerably better.

An early start today saw Project Peco installed in the Room of Doom and it's now perched on the Desk of Doing.

There's a bit of running around to do this morning but hopefully there'll be some time to make a bit of progress later.

I'd like to get the plain track cut to size, even if I don't manage to add the MDF top to the board.

Progress is still progress.

Regarding the layout itself, I managed to appropriate some time and was able to cut the plain track. Not only that but yep, a bit of testing has taken place.

All appears satisfactory indeed.

Next job will be to add a bit of filler, here and there before adding the MDF top.

Then the track can be laid and wired.

I think that layout standard wise it was a better show for quite a while.

See you in Minehead in a few weeks time.
